Frequently Asked Questions

Flowers, healing, peace, calm
1/ Do you also work individually with children and youth?

Yes, I work with children and youth between the ages of 7-12 years old. Once a young person turns 13, they are no longer considered a child according to Washington State laws and are able to sign for therapy services as an independent adult. Working with minors in therapy is a unique situation and requires specific paperwork and conversations around best practices and supports for the child, which is discussed at length in the consultation call.

2 / What can I expect during the initial consultation call?

During our 20 minute phone call, we will go over your reasons for seeking therapy, answer any questions you might have about how I practice or what I can offer, as well as discuss scheduling, payment, and next steps for paperwork. If during the call it is decided I am not the best fit for you, I will do my best to refer you to a clinician who can better serve your needs.

3 / What is your cancelation policy

You can cancel or reschedule an appointment at any time, as long as it provides 48 hours of notice before changing a scheduled session. If you cancel a session with less than 48 hours notice or do not show up for an appointment, you will be charged the full session fee. I provide all clients with one sliding cancelation per calendar year where this standard does not apply, and do my best to reschedule sessions accordingly so these fees can be avoided.

4 / What are your qualifications or trainings?

-MA in Counseling Psychology - Yorkville University, NB, Canada

-Somatic Experiencing International Practitioner in Training

-Northwest Family Life Affiliate Therapist

-Washington Mental Health Counselor Association Member
